Villa Montalvo Wedding

Villa Montalvo Wedding

This year we photographed a lot of weddings at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga.  There are some really great spots there for photos from the classic architecutre to the beautiful grounds.  I have another album that I am working on from Montalvo and will update my blog soon with some of those images.

Here is some information about Montalvo (it's pretty rich with history)

Montalvo Arts Center was previously known as Villa Montalvo, a historic
landmark built in 1912 by James Duval Phelan (1861-1930). Phelan, a
passionate Californian who had been a three-term progressive mayor of
San Francisco, went on to become California's first popularly-elected
U.S. Senator. Villa Montalvo was Senator Phelan's favorite home and a
center of artistic, political and social life in Northern California.
Phelan invited leading writers and artists to Villa Montalvo to work on
individual artistic projects in an environment rich in dialogue and
fellowship. Jack London, Ethel Barrymore, Mary Pickford, Douglass
Fairbanks, and Edwin Markham were among Phelan's many guests.

Villa Montalvo was named for the popular 16th-century Spanish writer
Garcia Ordonez de Montalvo, who coined the name "California". In one of
his fables, he described an island rich with gold and jewels, peopled
by Amazons whose queen was Califia. On this storybook island of
California, Montalvo's Amazons rode griffins, the mythical winged
guardians of precious treasure. Griffins can still be found throughout
the Villa Montalvo grounds, standing guard over one of California's
true precious treasures.

Here is one of our recent albums from Montalvo:

Adam and Jill wedding photos

Adam and Jill

Adam and Jill were married last month in Capitola.  The wedding day was beautiful, the fog lifted just
as the outdoor ceremony started and it was a great wedding to be a part of.  Since the wedding was a day wedding we were able to go down to the beach to get some photos of them afterwards and they turned out awesome.  Here are some shots of the day:

Thanks to all my wonderful clients

Thanks to all my wonderful clients

Shooting weddings is such a gratifying thing.  You get to be with the bride and groom and their family all day long and experience they day as if you were a family member.  Always at the end of the day you feel so close to the family since you are such a huge part of capturing their day.  I always put so much of myself into my work and strive to capture amazing images of my clients days.  After the wedding it feels so good to have the bride shed a tear when viewing her images for the first time, I know I  did my job right when that happens.
Or to hear confirmation from my clients that they love my images as much as I do, that just feels so good.

Here are a couple of comments from my brides, that were emailed to our online host pictage.com
-----------------
I can't say enough about Mark (Stagi Imagery). He has a way of taking pictures that captures the personalities of his clients. His work with color is amazing and his artistic touches make your photos very unique. On top of that, he was quick to respond to any questions I had and got our wedding pictures to us within a few weeks. Not only does he blend in with the crowd, but he loves what he does and that comes through in his work. Mark and his assistant were a joy to work with and I highly recommend him as a wedding photographer (though I'm sure does great portraits as well) :
-----------------
If you are looking for a GREAT photographer that captures every moment of your special day Mark Stagi is your man! His work truly unfolds like a story from beginning to end. His work fits the old cliche of "A picture is worth a thousand words" Thank you Mark =)
-----------------
Mark is amazing - his pictures capture feeling as well as static images. He is a great guy to work with and we're SO excited to have him photograph our wedding!

THANK YOU to all of my great clients for having me as a part of your wonderful day!!!

Carmel and Monterey Wedding photos

Issac and Jessie

I just finished up Issac and Jessie's wedding images, what a fun wedding!  One of the highlights of the day was driving in the trolley from the Carmel mission to the Monterey Plaza for the reception.  We took a few stops along the way and captured some great images.

Carmel Wedding

On a roll now

Ok, I am now on a posting roll :)
Here is a shot from Issac and Jessies wedding in Carmel.
The wedding was at the Carmel mission which is such a beautiful place
to get married at.  Here is a shot I liked when they were leaving the church.
The wedding was such a blast and we captured some fun shots of the bride
and the groom along 17 mile drive after the wedding.  I will
post a few of those images later.

A few more and its time for me to end the day (my eyes are almost cross eyed)

Fine Art Wedding and Portrait Photography

Congrats Issac and Jessie

Issac and Jessie had an amazing wedding on Saturday down in Monterey and Carmel.
The weather was so perfect all day long and started to drizzle a little once everyone went inside
for the reception.  The wedding was at the Carmel Mission which is such a beautiful building, we got to
start a little early photographing the bridal party separately and I know are going to have some great images
of them at the church.  After the church the entire bridal party got on a Trolley and cruised 17 mile drive, stopping a few places for photos.  It was such a fun trip and the trolley driver was just a comedian, he had us all laughing the entire trip.  The reception was at the Monterey plaza and everything there was just perfect.

You guys are such a great couple, I had a blast at the wedding!  Congratulations and I hope you
have a great honeymoon.

Congrats to Cami and Chung

Congrats to Cami and Chung

Cami and Chung were married on Saturday in Sacramento at the Arden Hills Resort.  The day turned out so beautiful, thanks for having me a part of your day.  The location just finished a new building that had a mix between a Tuscan feel and a French country feel, it was a beautiful location and they were married right in the back of the building in a nice courtyard.  I know there are going to be some amazing shots from the day, i'll post a few images later on in the week!
